DATA PROTECT

The data protect attribute allows part or all of the data EEPROM within the CPU to be inspected and modified after the chip has been programmed.

Data protection is normally used to prevent someone else reading or modifying the contents of the data EEPROM (changeing the execution parameters of the program or reading secure information such as passwords or encryption keys).

It is generally a good idea to disable data protection while developing a program.
