All object edit operations must be confirmed or they will be undone immediately. This is done by pressing and releasing the right mouse button while the left mouse button is held down.
If the left mouse button is released before the edit is confirmed the edit cannot be confirmed without first being re-done.
This greatly reduces the amount of time wasted undoing mistakes.
